Avram Glazer Reaffirms Commitment to Manchester United and Rules Out a Sale Despite Fan Pressure
American businessman Avram Glazer, co-owner of Manchester United, has made it clear that he has no intention of selling his stake in the club, despite the challenges the team is facing this season. At 60 years old, he and his family maintain controlling ownership of the club, even after approving the sale of a minority stake to British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, head of Ineos, last year.
Since Avram and his late father, Malcolm Glazer, acquired the club in 2005, the family has faced continuous protests from United fans, who have voiced their discontent over the club’s management, citing a lack of investment and sporting ambition.
In November 2022, when the Glazers announced they were seeking new investors and exploring “strategic alternatives,” many fans saw it as a potential opportunity for a complete sale. However, with Avram Glazer’s recent statement reaffirming his commitment to the club, hopes of the family’s full departure appear to be fading, leaving supporters uncertain about the club’s future.
